EcoEternity Green Burial Concept and Forest Cemetery

American culture is changing and so are our interment traditions

Traditional Cemetery
Traditional Cemetery

Traditionally, families lived close together and owned a family cemetery on one of their farms where family members were buried together. With a population that has largely moved to suburbs and cities, our traditions of interment have dramatically changed.  Typically, families no longer live close together and few families still use a family cemetery. The EcoEternity Forest has restored the concept of a family burial plot with a tree as a living memorial for the family.

We offer three different types of interment sites for different groups in contemporary American culture:

Family Reunion Tree

In an EcoEternity Forest, families may select a tree where up to 15 family members (grandparents, parents, children, uncles, aunts, even pets - you define "family") can be interred over a period of up to 99 years. We call this a Family Reunion Tree.

Community Tree

For those who want to be interred in an EcoEternity Forest, but have no need for an entire tree, we offer the option of sharing individual interment rights with others under a Community Tree. A maximum of 15 people may share a tree.

Many married couples who only need two interment rights acquire those rights next to each other under a Community Tree.

Friendship Tree

All Americans live in some sort of a social network. For some, this network is closer than their families. This may be a church group, fraternal order, veteran’s organization, or a circle of close friends,

With a Friendship Tree, those who belong to a social network and want to be interred together may select exclusive interment rights for up to 15 under a dedicated Friendship Tree.

Some people elect to create a hybrid of a Family and Friendship Tree including both family and close friends under the same tree.
