About Pocono Plateau
Located In the heart of the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania the EcoEternity Forest at Pocono Plateau is an hour’s drive from Allentown and Scranton, and about two hours from Philadelphia and New York City.
For over 60 years, the forest has been used to provide a place for Christian Summer Camps and Retreats. Only parts of the forest are used for such activities. A large portion of the forest has been allowed to mature untouched by man.
A nature walk through the woods will reveal a large variety of indigenous trees such as American Beech, Black Cherry, Eastern Hemlock, Red Maples, Sugar maples and various Birches. Hay-Scented Ferns, Lowbush Blueberry, and Princess Pine cover the forest floor. In the Spring and Summer, the beauty of the forest is ever present between the Shadbush, Rhododendron and wildflowers. In the Fall, the forest is a parade of autumn colors.
Pocono Plateau’s mission is to provide opportunities to experience the Gospel of Jesus Christ though recreation, challenge and reflection. There is no better place to reflect upon life’s choices than being surrounded by God’s beautiful creation. The EcoEternity Forest allows our ministry to impact lives on the most challenging aspect of life – preparation for death - by focusing on the hope of the Gospel message.
